PAREA receives €50,000 grant from Entheon Foundation to advance psychedelic-assisted mental health treatments in Europe
We’re delighted to announce that PAREA has received a generous €50,000 grant from the Entheon Foundation, recognising our work to integrate psychedelic-assisted mental health treatments into Europe’s healthcare systems.
This support is especially significant given the increasingly uncertain funding landscape for health NGOs in Europe. With many organisations facing cuts to their operating grants under the EU4Health programme, unrestricted funding like this is crucial for maintaining advocacy efforts and ensuring that independent, forward-looking initiatives can continue at a time when public funding is becoming less reliable
The grant will strengthen PAREA’s core activities – in particular:
Strategic advocacy at the EU level, including engagement with the European Parliament and Commission to ensure that psychedelic innovation is embedded into upcoming health strategies and regulatory initiatives.
Pushing for increased EU research and innovation funding, especially through Horizon Europe and European Brain Health Partnership, to address the urgent need for better mental health treatments.
Expanding educational and capacity-building efforts, with a focus on clinicians, patient advocates, and national psychedelic societies – helping build a community ready to support safe, effective implementation.
“In just three years, PAREA has catalysed over €10 million in EU funding for psychedelic research and innovation. This grant will help us go even further - strengthening our voice in Brussels and accelerating the transformation of mental health care across Europe.”
— Tadeusz Hawrot, Founder and Executive Director of PAREA
“Supporting PAREA is vital for advancing access to psychedelic-assisted treatments in Europe. By navigating the EU policy landscape, PAREA turns scientific promise into real-world patient access. They are lobbying for one of the most promising therapeutic frontiers.”
— Laurens de Groot, Partnership Lead, Entheon
We’re deeply grateful to the Entheon Foundation for their support at this key moment for the field.
