Health4Europe – a Blueprint for Health in the next Long Term EU Budget
Today, the EU4Health Civil Society Alliance launched Health4Europe—a strategic blueprint for the next EU Health Programme. Its goal is to ensure that health remains a top political and financial priority in the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), and to further strengthen the European Health Union.
As a member of the Alliance, PAREA fully endorses this proposal. Building on the achievements of the current #EU4Health programme, the blueprint introduces new dimensions that highlight health as a key pillar of EU resilience, competitiveness, and long-term prosperity. It calls for renewed commitment from EU institutions to protect and promote public health, including through stronger crisis preparedness, improved access, and greater inclusion of civil society in health governance.
At a time of geopolitical uncertainty and negotiations around EU funding priorities, Health4Europe offers a timely and actionable path forward. It reflects the collective expertise of more than 40 health and civil society organisations, and invites EU leaders to embed health more deeply across strategic and budgetary frameworks. PAREA is proud to contribute to this effort and to advocate for a stronger, healthier, and more cohesive Europe.
