From the margins to mainstream: PAREA at the EPA Congress in Prague

These past days, we’ve been at the 34th European Psychiatric Association Congress in Prague, themed “Mental Health: Improving Care and Expanding Horizons”.

At our dedicated PAREA stand, we engaged with clinicians and professionals interested in exploring the role of psychedelic therapies in mental health care. We also represented the EU-funded PsyPal project, which is investigating psilocybin-assisted therapy for existential and psychological distress in palliative care settings.

The two sessions on the topic with PAREA Chair David Nutt saw strong attendance, with hundreds joining the sessions, followed by engaging discussions, reflecting the level of interest in the topic.

Thank you to the EPA for the opportunity to participate in this meaningful exchange, in a space where clinical practice and policy are actively shaped!

Later this year, we will continue this work at the World Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care and at the European Academy of Neurology Congress.
