PAREA’s 2024 Impact Report now live!

PAREA’s annual Impact Report, compiling all our activities, contributions and achievements for the year of 2024, is now available!

2024 was a landmark year for psychedelics globally, and PAREA played a distinct role in shaping the field in Europe.

Swipe to discover some highlights:

In 2024, we contributed to key milestones, such as the launch of the EU-funded psilocybin trial (PsyPal), and the EMA’s Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on Psychedelics.

Notably, PAREA was also invited to join the WHO’s external review group on controlled medicines policy—a global first for a psychedelic organisation.

Organisationally, we entered a new chapter as a legally registered nonprofit with an expert and multidisciplinary Board of Directors.

Throughout the year, we led targeted policy engagement at EU level - for example, coordinating the MEP Action Group for the Psychedelics in Healthcare, launching an EU elections campaign and public advocacy toolkit, formulating policy positions, and supporting numerous mental, brain and public health pledges. These efforts helped keep mental health innovation on the political agenda during a period of institutional transition.

Equally central to our mission were our communication and community building initiatives

In 2024, PAREA organised and participated in numerous high-profile events, contributed to international podcasts and webinars, expanded our media presence, and released newsletters and news releases to promote rational discussions on the development of psychedelic treatments.

We focused on deepening relationships within our community and expanding our network, strengthening our growing role as a convener and connector and facilitating dialogue between researchers, regulators, patients, and advocacy groups across Europe.

Namely, we were actively dedicated to collaborating with Ukrainian partners in supporting access to improved mental health care and evidence-based psychedelic therapies for war-related trauma, organising an event and meetings with relevant international experts.

This report is not just a summary of our progress, but a reflection of the field’s momentum and the brilliant community behind it.

We thank our members and supporters for making these achievements possible, and we look forward to continuing the journey together!
