Europe Invests in the Future of Psychedelic Science: INTEGRATE Doctoral Network Launches with €4.3 Million in Funding
Big news for psychedelic research in Europe!
A second major EU-funded project in psychedelic science, following PsyPal, will start in the coming months. INTEGRATE—Interdisciplinary Network for Training, Education, and Growing Research into Applications of and Therapeutic Expertise around Psychedelics—will be a doctoral training network supported by €4.3 million in EU funding through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions under Horizon Europe.
It will train 16 PhD students across Europe, equipping them with deep disciplinary knowledge and broad interdisciplinary skills.
Through collaborative research, innovative training, and strategic secondments, INTEGRATE will tackle the key challenges in psychedelic research:
1) The mechanisms of action
2) Lack of clinical gold standards
3) Legal, financial, and regulatory obstacles for psychedelic access
4) Hype, hope, and ethical challenges
PAREA will be involved in the project as an associated partner. We will contribute to a work package identifying ethical, legal and societal challenges and opportunities for applying psychedelic therapy by hosting a PhD student for a secondment.
