Mental Health Innovation Elections Pledge
In recognition of the escalating mental health crisis within the EU and the urgent need for innovative therapeutic interventions, I, the undersigned, pledge to champion mental health innovation, with a particular focus on the development, regulation, and integration of novel mental health treatments such as psychedelic therapies into mental health care.
Upon election to the European Parliament, I will:
Advocate for Mental Health Innovation: Commit to supporting mental health policies and initiatives, including the funding of research on novel mental health treatments, such as psychedelic therapies, recognizing their potential in treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, addictions, and end-of-life distress.
Support regulation and standards of care: Encourage the meaningful regulation of novel mental health treatments in areas like standards of care, training, and ethical guidelines.
Join the MEP Action Group for the Medical Use of Psychedelics: Commit to being a member of the MEP Action Group for the Medical Use of Psychedelics to advance these goals through collaborative efforts, policy development, and advocacy within the EP.
