Save the date: Psychedelic research and access in palliative care – PsyPal webinar

Please save the date for an upcoming public webinar on addressing psychological distress in palliative care, centred on the EU-funded PsyPal project (Psilocybin Therapy for Psychological Distress in Palliative Care Patients). The webinar is planned for 13th April, 2pm CEST (TBC) and will be hosted on the EU Health Policy Platform, bringing together perspectives from palliative care, mental health research, patient advocacy, and European health policy.

The discussion will focus on the psychological and existential burden experienced by people living with life-limiting conditions, the limits of current support approaches, and how clinical research is responding within established ethical and regulatory frameworks. PsyPal will be presented as a concrete example of EU-funded research addressing unmet needs in palliative care.

Full webinar details, speakers, and registration information will be shared shortly.

At the same time, the PsyPal clinical trial is now underway and actively recruiting participants across four European sites: Copenhagen, Groningen, Lisbon, and Prague. The study explores whether psilocybin therapy can help reduce psychological distress in people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, and atypical Parkinson’s disease - conditions where palliative care options for psychological suffering remain limited.

If you or someone you know might be eligible and interested in participating, please get in touch with one of the sites’ medical specialists:
