Save the date: Psychedelic research and access in Ukraine
Please save the date for an upcoming European Parliament event on psychedelic research and access in Ukraine, taking place on 6 May, 1:00–3:00 pm, hosted by MEP Vytenis Andriukaitis. The meeting is co-organised by PAREA, the MEP Action Group on Psychedelics in Healthcare, and the Ukrainian Psychedelic Research Association.
The discussion will bring together Ukrainian and European policymakers, clinicians, researchers, and regulators to examine how Ukraine is responding to severe war-related mental health needs. Over the past year, Ukraine has taken concrete steps to modernise its regulatory framework, including proposals to enable scientific research with currently controlled substances under strict safeguards.
The event will explore why these developments matter, what they could enable in practice, and how European institutions and experts can support responsible, public-health-led pathways focused on research, safety, and future medical use. Further details and speaker confirmations will be shared soon.
