May 6: Register now! Psychedelic research and access in Ukraine—policy discussion at the European Parliament and online

We would like to invite you to our upcoming event at the European Parliament and online — Psychedelic Research & Access in Ukraine: Building safe, evidence-based options for war-related mental health needs — which will take place on 6 May, from 14:30 to 16:30.

The event, co-organised by PAREA, the MEP Action Group on Psychedelics in Healthcare, and the Ukrainian Psychedelic Research Association (UPRA), and hosted by S&D MEP Vytenis Andriukaitis, will explore how evidence-based psychedelic therapies may contribute to addressing war-related mental health challenges in Ukraine, particularly PTSD among veterans.

The conversation will cover scientific perspectives on MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD, recent policy developments in Ukraine aimed at creating a framework for psychedelic research and care, and pathways from policy to practice, including lessons from European depression clinical guidelines that could help build national capacity in Ukraine. We are pleased to confirm Prof. Eric Vermetten and Prof. Geert Dom as our first speakers, with Ukrainian participants to be confirmed shortly.
